Capcom producer told long series reboot is possible, but not until "many decisions" are made.

Resident Evil

A restart is possible, according to Capcom producer MK. Speaking to Eurogamer, the developer asked if Capcom is willing to change the formula of the series - perhaps making it an open world - after receipt of the polarization of Resident Evil 6, in which the idea of reset was mentioned.

"If we did [go with an open world], we would like to keep that Resident Evil is and what makes it attractive for the fans, while making it accessible to new players. Almost had a reboot of the series lightweight for a place that could work with a open world game, "he said. "This is just a personal opinion."

"something many decisions that must be taken before something like what happens in the series, but it's ..." he added. "There is a possibility ".
  • Kawata currently working on Resident Evil recently announced: Port Revelations on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U, due out in May. He said that the reception of the game affect future leaders address Capcom about Resident Evil.
  • "Once we see revelations published on consoles, we will examine carefully how the title is received and feedback we receive," he said. "I think we have a lot of comments from fans and media about what this means for Resident Evil, and what it could mean for the future of the series. Will certainly see this as a signal we need to go next. "
One possibility for the future of Resident Evil, Kawata said, is for Capcom to put more emphasis on the element of terror, so that "something more afraid of what he has did. "

Capcom has already said that the remake of Resident Evil 2 is possible with enough fan support.
