Funcom, operators of fantasy MMOG Age of Conan, has won instant dividends last month to move to a hybrid free-to-play model. Revenues have doubled the amount of players have quadrupled, and the signature of 300 000 new registrations and reports "positive development" in the number of subscribers. "The launch of hybrid business model has been very successful so far," said Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. "It certainly gives us great hope for the future of the game."
