A small group of industry veterans have created a game designed to be played in 15 minutes. They see it as a new approach to learning from the innovative design. It is also very beautiful
The cat who got the milk is a game for PC and Mac with a little difference. It seems strange, strange sounds and involves the control of a cat through a variety of journey of environments intended to represent an understanding of the feline world. It has also two commands, from top to bottom. But this is not the bit. The key is something that is designed to be completed in just 15 minutes.
"In modern entertainment there's so much competing for the attention of the melody in the drive," says co-designer Oliver Clarke, who had worked in industry for several years before embarking on this adventure with three other developers. "We believe it is a privelage to be a part-time actor so that we must respect. 15 minutes is a good time to provide an exciting and attractive that you can enjoy without having to worry about investing time in a game. "
- The simple mechanic emerged from the discussions on some games simple buttons that flourished in the smartphone sector. From there, the cat walked into the type of item "The theme came from a cat that I grew up," says Clarke. "And there's a quote from Jack Nicholson:" If you're on stage, a cat walking and everyone looks at you ... you are a "Star"
The other part of the game is striking art style, which seems to compress between Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky and Miro in the blink of an eye of a cat. "The look is inspired by numerous visits to galleries in London," said Clarke. "We look at artists ranging from Kandinsky to Mark Rothko. In this country, we are very fortunate to have an amazing array of art available to us to see, for free! I think if we have an understanding of just 1% of what is in our galleries can make amazing games visuals. It was great to get feedback from players who are really getting a kick out of seeing art acknowledged in a game in a way that n ' have never seen before. "
aa The title is currently available for download on PC and Mac and the team has already started working on monitoring the key. This is another experiment of 15 minutes, although the study of four people trying to build as you gain more experience. "At present, we feel we must buy time for the players," said Clarke. "We will continue to learn how to create quality games, short and entertaining. With the cat who got the milk that we are taking our first bold step we take on board all the comments, all critical, and learning, learning, learning. "
