yesterday, so I have the original freshness in my mind when I started to play
Black Mesa . The game looks really old game, and this new update significantly improves visual experience. The textures are very sharp, high definition, the lighting is dynamic, modern, and physics have been completely added using the Havok engine.
While the new visual effects are great, the worst of the old game, is the sound. When people talk about you, it looks like they are trapped in a static machine scanned on a planet full of monsters static. It is bad enough. However, dialogue is clean and lined. Delivery and inflection corresponds to the original and which is strange.
The gameplay is a bit updated. I would never have noticed if I had not gone and played the old game just before the remake. It is subtle enough to adjust the controls feel fresh. Shooters old that strange feeling more like a floating camera and less as you walk around the world.
Black Mesa feels like a modern game. Do not read that it changed everything and made totally different. It is true that this game is and do not change the way
Half-Life
works, but only changes the way you feel. I guess that 80% of people who play not even notice any difference in controls.
The only fault I have found so far is that load times can be very slow at points. Not break the game, but it's annoying. I hope this is something that can be treated in the future.
