[[[Immanuel Kant, Critique of Pure Reason]]]

Description:

Aristotelean philosophers distinguish two types of solutions:

1) synthetic solution .- Decisions based on the synthesis or together various facts of experience, and therefore considered a posteriori. For example, "... phases of the moon visible in the dark."

2) Analytical solution .- The decisions that are based solely on the analysis of the subject, without recourse to experience, and therefore considered a priori. For example, "... a direct line straight."

Kant was not entirely satisfied with these conclusions and the reasons that there are synthetic judgments a priori, such as mathematics. Aristoteleans argue that such decisions are truly analytical.
